Acacia subsidiary awarded $9.2m in Motorola case

Patent licensing company Acacia Research Corporation said its subsidiary Saint Lawrence Communications LLC received a jury verdict in its case against Motorola in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

“The jury returned a verdict that five US patents were valid and infringed,” said Acacia.

“The jury found the infringement was willful and returned a damages award of nearly $9.2 million for past infringement.”
