IP licensing company Marathon Patent Group said its wholly-owned subsidiary Munitech IP S.a.r.l. entered into a settlement and license agreement with four defendants.
The Munitech patents involved cover W-CDMA and GSM cellular technology.
“The consideration to be paid to Munitech and all other terms of the license agreement are confidential,” said Marathon.
Marathon said patent infringement lawsuits remain against the following companies in the Regional Court of Dusseldorf in Germany: Xiaomi Technology Co. Ltd; Telecom Deutschland GmbH; Vodafone GmbH; Telefonica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG.
“Significantly, most of the patent families have been declared to be Standard Essential Patents with the European Telecommunications Standard Institute and/or the Association of Radio Industries and Businesses related to Long Term Evolution, Universal Mobile Telecommunications System, and/or General Packet Radio Service,” said Marathon.
