The US International Trade Commission said it launched a patent infringement investigation of certain Nikon digital cameras, software and components following a complaint by Carl Zeiss AG and ASML Netherlands B.V.
“The products at issue in the investigation are digital cameras that include image sensors and image processing software,” said the USITC.
“The investigation is based on a complaint filed by Carl Zeiss AG of Oberkochen, Germany, and ASML Netherlands B.V. of Veldhoven, Netherlands, on April 28, 2017.
“The complaint alleges violations of section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 in the importation into the United States and sale of certain digital cameras, software, and components thereof that infringe patents asserted by the complainant.
“The complainant requests that the USITC issue a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders.”
