Smart glasses company Vuzix Corporation said it has teamed up with BlackBerry Limited to enable IT departments to manage and secure the data accessed and captured through its smart glasses.
Deployed with BlackBerry Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) software, Vuzix Smart Glasses “will enable the millions of employees estimated to use head worn wearable devices on the job to communicate clearly and access critical data, without interruption from the task at hand,” said Vuzix.
Vuzix said it holds 51 patents and has 39 additional patents pending and numerous IP licenses in the video eyewear field.
“We are excited to partner with BlackBerry, a global leader in secure operating systems, mobile communications and mobile device management to deliver secure and simple applications to BlackBerry’s enterprise customers built around the Vuzix M300 Smart Glasses”, said Vuzix CEO Paul Travers.
Mark Wilson, SVP and Chief Evangelist, BlackBerry, said: “As more and more devices and connection points emerge, IT departments are tasked with not only ensuring data and information are secure, but also providing a unified workspace for employees.
“We’re excited to partner with Vuzix to provide an innovative solution that will improve productivity and most importantly help keep people and information safe.”
