CPI gets patents for encased tungsten card

CPI Card Group, a provider of financial and EMV chip card production and related services, said it was issued three patents for its encased tungsten fusion card.

The company has also been issued patents for the card in Canada and the United Kingdom.

“Our approach to developing metal cards has always been rooted in differentiation – helping financial institutions offer consumers a product that is unique and stands out in the marketplace from competitor cards,” said Lane Dubin, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, CPI Card Group.

“Through these new patents, we have greater protection in offering customers our encased tungsten fusion card, which brings a substantive, satisfying weight paired with our extensive card design features and capabilities.”

The patented encased tungsten fusion card features Tungsten, the heaviest available metal, encased in PVC.

The card is nearly double the weight of conventional metal cards.
