InterDigital, Kyocera in patent license agreement

Mobile technology firm InterDigital, Inc. said the company’s patent licensing subsidiaries signed a multi-year, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-bearing patent license agreement with Kyocera Corporation.

InterDigital said: “The agreement covers sales by Kyocera Corporation and its affiliates of terminal unit products designed to operate in accordance with WCDMA and LTE standards, providing Kyocera expanded coverage for products in addition to those covered under their existing license agreement with InterDigital.”

Tim Berghuis, chief licensing officer at InterDigital, said: “Kyocera is a pioneer in providing ruggedized mobile devices, and have positioned themselves for success in the wireless market for years to come.

“InterDigital is pleased to build upon its relationship with Kyocera, a long standing licensee of InterDigital.”
